Japanese OEM Mitsubishi Aircraft has opened its new 3,700m2 engineering centre in Seattle where it will carry out flight test work on its forthcoming MRJ regional jet.

Japanese OEM Mitsubishi Aircraft has opened its new 3,700m2 engineering centre in Seattle where it will carry out flight test work on its forthcoming MRJ regional jet.

Unveiled on Monday (August 3), the firm said opening the facility will allow it to utilise professional skills in the area while helping to accelerate the development of the MRJ, with flight tests excepted to begin in Q2 2016 in Moses Lake, Washington.

Mitsubishi Aircraft confirmed it will work with Seattle-based AeroTec on carrying out the flight test work.
