Europe’s passenger traffic fell to its lowest point in five years during December 2012, Eurocontrol has announced. Traffic dropped by 5.6 per cent compared with the same period in 2011. Europe’s total air traffic flow management (ATFM) delays decreased by 2.1 per cent compared with December 2011. In contrast, traffic in Latin America and the Caribbean rose 10.3 per cent during November, the latest set of figure from the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) show. The region’s traffic (RPK) grew 10.6 per cent and capacity (ASK) rose 4.7 per cent, bringing up the load factor to 77 per cent, 4.1 percentage points higher than in November 2011.
