Closer ties have been forged between carriers in the Asia Pacific region with the announcement of two new codeshare deals. The first sees Japan Airlines and SriLankan Airlines agree to expand their codeshare agreement.

Closer ties have been forged between carriers in the Asia Pacific region with the announcement of two new codeshare deals.

The first sees Japan Airlines and SriLankan Airlines agree to expand their codeshare agreement.

From December 2, it will include, among other routes, non-stop flights from Tokyo to Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile Garuda Indonesia and Myanmar Airways International have signed their first codeshare agreement covering flights between Bangkok and Yangon; Singapore and Yangon; Jakarta and Bangkok; and Jakarta and Singapore.

The carriers aim to implement the codeshare next month, following government approvals.
