Los Angeles-based lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has announced the placement of two 787-9 aircraft with Middle Eastern carrier Oman Air.

Los Angeles-based lessor Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has announced the placement of two 787-9 aircraft with Middle Eastern carrier Oman Air.

The aircraft, scheduled to be delivered from 2018 to 2020, are directly from ALC’s order book with Boeing and builds on previous deals between the parties.

In August 2015, Oman Air confirmed its intention to lease 14 Boeing aircraft from ALC, comprised of three new 737-800s, seven new 737-8MAXs, one new 787-9, one used 737-700 and two used 737-800 aircraft.

Alex Khatibi, executive vice-president of ALC, said the transaction for the two widebodies was enabled by the strong existing relationship between the two firms.
