Philippine Airlines (PAL) has called for a resolution to its labour dispute with the employees union of the country’s Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has called for a resolution to its labour dispute with the employees union of the country’s Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Members of the CAAP labour union have carried out peaceful protests about the recent suspension of their salary increases and bonuses specifically for technical staff at the airline.

In a statement released on Wednesday (April 20), the flag carrier’s president and COO Jaime Bautista said he was optimistic about reaching a "swift and acceptable resolution" with staff but warned that the actions of CAAP members could paint a negative picture of the country’s aviation industry as the Philippines looks to regain ICAO category 1 safety status.
