Passenger Numbers Up 7.1% In August, Says IATA

Global passenger traffic grew 7.1 per cent in August compared with the previous year, according to the latest IATA data.

Demand for domestic travel also climbed by 7.1 per cent year-on-year while demand for international travel also rose by 7.1 per cent compared to August 2014.

In a similar fashion to last month, the Middle East experienced the biggest surge in demand with a growth rate of 13.7 per cent compared to the previous 12 months.

This was followed by Asia-Pacific and Latin America, which grew 7.7 per cent and 6.7 per cent respectively.
