Passenger Numbers Up 8.2% In June, Says IATA

Global passenger traffic grew 8.2 per cent in July compared with the previous year, according to the latest IATA data.

Demand for domestic travel rose 7.6 per cent on June 2014 figures, a figure bettered by the rise in demand for international travel, which rose 8.6 per cent year-on-year.

The Middle East, owing to Ramadan, experienced the biggest surge in demand by growing 19.8 per cent compared to the previous 12 months.

This was followed by Asia-Pacific and Latin America, which both saw growth of 8.5 per cent for the month.
