Piedmont Airlines Upgrades Dash-8 FMS

US-based Universal Avionics has won a contract with Piedmont Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of US Airways, to provide GPS-based flight management systems (FMS) for retrofit on the airline’s fleet of 32 Dash 8-100 aircraft.

Under the contract, the installation of the new FMS system is to be completed on Piedmont’s fleet this year.

The FMS retrofit contract with Universal Avionics comes after the firm was chosen to provide new multi-function displays for the same fleet.
