Qingdao Airlines Places $100m CFM56 Order

Chinese carrier Qingdao Airlines has placed an order with CFM International for its CFM56-5B engine to power five of the A320ceo aircraft expected to enter its fleet later this year.

Chinese carrier Qingdao Airlines has placed an order with CFM International for its CFM56-5B engine to power five of the A320ceo aircraft expected to enter its fleet later this year.

The engine order is worth $100m at US list prices and also includes a 12-year materials services agreement.

The order for the five A320ceo aircraft was placed in September 2013 with Airbus.

Qingdao Airlines took delivery of its first leased A320ceo powered by CFM56 engines in April 2014 when it commenced operations and currently has nine aircraft in its fleet.

It plans to grow its fleet to around 60 aircraft by 2020.
