Those searching for the wreckage of Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ8501 have found the tail structure of the A320 which should contain the aircraft’s cockpit-voice recorder and the flight-data recorder.
The tail section was found by divers 30km from the initial search area Pangkalan Bun, about 1,000km southeast of Singapore.
Indonesia’s minister of transportation, Ignasius Jonan, told Bloomberg TV yesterday (January 7) that:
“We will try as soon as we can to lift up the black box and try to analyse it.”
Flight QZ8510 crashed on December 28 on route to Singapore from Surabaya killing all 162 passengers and crew.
