UAE-based carrier Air Arabia has confirmed that annual net profits increased 30 per cent in 2014 to $154.1m.

In publishing its annual results, the airline confirmed that its turnover rose 17 per cent to $1bn last year, as a result of a 12 per cent increase in passenger numbers to more than 6.8 million.

Air Arabia’s positive results came despite net profit for Q4 2014 falling by 28 per cent owing to what it described as a “temporary downward correction” in its fuel hedge portfolio.
