RwandAir has placed a firm order with Airbus for an A330-200 and a larger A330-300 following an initial commitment for the aircraft placed earlier this year.

At a signing ceremony in Kigali on Wednesday (September 9), the Republic of Rwanda flag carrier became a new Airbus customer and also the first East African airline to bring the A330 into its fleet.

Deliveries of the aircraft will commence from H2 2016 and will be used on medium and long-haul routes across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
