Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair plans to expand its maintenance facility in Kaunas, Lithuania with an investment of around €250,000 ($275,000).
According to Invest Lithuania, new workshops will be established at Ryanair’s Kaunas Aircraft Maintenance Services (KAMS) hangar located at Kaunas International Airport as a result of the investment.
Karolis Čepukas, KAMS’s accountable manager, said: “This year, the expected volume of airframe maintenance and aircraft components in Kaunas is increasing, so it was decided to open additional workshops for aircraft components within our existing hangars.”
Čepukas added that it is also opening workshops for repairing aircraft airstairs, filling oxygen cylinders, and working on metal and composite parts.
He confirmed new airframe technician roles will be created as a result of the expansion, with overall staff numbers expected to reach 140.
