Shares of Europe’s original low-cost carrier Ryanair hit €10.14 (12.07) yesterday (January 5) after it revealed a 20 per cent jump in passenger numbers.

Ryanair has confirmed that it carried 6.02 million people during December 2014, one million more than over the same period the year before.

The LCC’s load factor also increased seven per cent year on year to 88 per cent. Kenny Jacobs, Ryanair’s chief marketing officer, claimed the increases were the result of efforts to improve customers’ experiences of flying with the airline, as well as its expanded winter schedule.
