SAS is to complete its takeover of Danish carrier, Cimber, by April next year in a deal worth $3.3m.

SAS will also acquire Cimber's CO2 emission rights under the EU emissions trading scheme for 2015–2020, which it can either use or trade.

The announcement follows SAS’ decision in September to end its wet lease contract with Cimber, which would have left the smaller airline struggling to operate.
