Smoother Touchdowns At Brisbane

Resurfacing of Brisbane Airport’s main runway has been completed after nearly six months of night works costing A$15m. The pre-existing 11-year-old asphalt in the touchdown zones at either end of the runway was replaced with asphalt produced on-site at a specially constructed mobile batch plant. The new asphalt will last for at least the next 10 years. The installation of new aeronautical ground lighting and asphalt grooving was also completed as part of the project.
