Southwest Airlines said it will send a tentative labor agreement with its pilots union Southwest Airlines Pilots’ Association (SWAPA) to its 8,000 members for a vote.

As part of the agreement, Southwest said its pilots would get wage increases in line with other North American carriers as well as work-rule changes including increased pension contributions and improved flying schedules.

SWAPA officials said they will speak with pilots in the next few weeks to discuss terms of the agreement and the voting process, before a voting process runs from October 5 to November 4.

If accepted, the agreement will run to 1 April, 2019.
