The Japanese subsidiary of Chinese low-cost carrier Spring Airlines launched operations on August 1.

The LCC, which was formed in 2012, had hoped to begin flying in May, but pushed back its launch citing inspections with Japanese regulators related to training requirements.

The LCC is now operating daily flights from Tokyo’s Narita International Airport to Japanese destinations, and aims to offer international flights in due course.
