The Interstate Aviation Committee has confirmed that the SSJ100 can now be operated on narrow 30m-wide runways. The committee has expanded operating conditions of the aircraft under the certification programme, which previously allowed taking off and landing on runways that were wider than 30m. The new certification did not require any changes in design of the aircraft or its systems. The certification programme ran from February till March 2014 and consisted of two stages: simulation and flight tests, and saw two test aircraft take part in flight tests, at Ramenskoe Aerodrome, near Moscow, and Karlovy Vary International Airport in the Czech Republic. The supplemental certificate allows SSJ100 operators to increase the number of possible destinations they can serve.
