Sustainable Aviation Fuel To Bolster UK

Sustainable Aviation (SA), a coalition of the UK’s airlines, airports, manufacturers and the country's air navigation service provider, has released a road map outlining opportunities for sustainable aviation fuels. The map identifies the potential for a 24 per cent reduction in aviation carbon dioxide emissions by 2050, and the generation of £265m ($415m) and 4,400 UK jobs in the next 15 years. It forecasts that by 2030 there could be 90 to 160 sustainable fuel plants globally, 12 of which could be in the UK, with an estimated global revenue of between £8bn ($12bn)and  £17bn ($25bn). It also recommends the establishment of a public-private initiative, similar to the US commercial aviation alternative fuel initiative, to help realise these opportunities.
