Portuguese carrier TAP has selected the Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engine to power its order of 14 A330neo aircraft.

The engine, which is expected to enter into service in 2017, was selected for the A330neo after TAP chose the aircraft to replace its previous order for 12 A350-900 aircraft as part of its fleet renewal strategy.

TAP’s new owners Atlantic Gateway announced its order for the A330neo on Tuesday (November 17) as part of an influx of 53 aircraft in total.
