Chinese regional carrier Tianjin Airlines has confirmed an order with Embraer for 20 E195s and two E190-E2 aircraft, in a deal worth an estimated $1.1bn at current list prices.

Chinese regional carrier Tianjin Airlines has confirmed an order with Embraer for 20 E195s and two E190-E2 aircraft, in a deal worth an estimated $1.1bn at current list prices.

Tianjin, a subsidiary of the HNA Group, announced a commitment for 40 aircraft in July 2014 during a state visit to Brazil and is awaiting approval from the Chinese authorities to buy the remaining 18 E190-E2 it signed for.

The deal makes Tianjin the first Chinese airline to order Embraer’s next generation regional jet and the two confirmed E190-E2 aircraft are scheduled for delivery in 2018.

The first of the carrier’s new E195 aircraft, meanwhile, is scheduled for delivery later this year.
