Tigerair Mandala To Stop Flying

Tigerair Mandala will cease operations from July 1. Shareholders have reportedly explored a number of options to turn the airlines fortunes around, however, they concluded that Mandala is not able to sustain its operations. The airline is the Indonesian arm of low-cost airline group Tiger Airways Singapore (operating as Tigerair). Tiger Airways acquired a 33 per cent stake in Mandala in January 2012, increasing to 35.8 per cent in September 2013 through its wholly owned subsidiary, Roar Aviation. Mandala will continue to operate its scheduled services until its last flight that will depart Hong Kong at 02:35 hours on July 1. All flights thereafter will be cancelled.
