Taiwan’s aviation authority has ordered the suspension of 29 TransAsia Airways pilots after they failed or missed mandatory safety tests that were implemented after last week’s GE235 crash.

Taiwan’s Civil Aviation Administration revealed yesterday (February 11) that 10 of the carrier’s pilots needed retraining after failing an exam on handling emergency situations, while a further 19 would be suspended after not taking the test.

Of the 58 passengers on board the ATR 72-600, 42 have been confirmed dead with one still missing.
