Low-cost carrier Transavia has revealed itself as the previously unnamed customer of 17 737-800 NGs, ordered from Boeing.

The $1.6bn order (at list prices) includes options for three more of the same aircraft. The airline, a wholly owned subsidiary of Air France KLM, said the order will support its growth in operations from France and the Netherlands.

Transavia has flown 737s since the mid-1970s and currently operates a single aircraft fleet of 45 next generation 737s.
