Turkish Airlines Flight Forced To Make Emergency Landing

A Turkish Airlines' aircraft slid off the runway at Istanbul Ataturk Airport on Saturday (April 25) after completing an emergency landing.

A Turkish Airlines' aircraft slid off the runway at Istanbul Ataturk Airport on Saturday (April 25) after completing an emergency landing.

The A320 aircraft, which was returning from Milan, had reportedly made a first attempt at landing in which the landing gear was damaged and a fire caused in the right engine.

The 97 passengers were safely evacuated following the emergency landing with no injuries reported, according to the carrier.

The aircraft has now been moved to a maintenance hangar, with Turkish Airlines confirming that: “the necessary investigation has been started to clarify the causes of the incident”.
