Turkish Airlines Posts $406m H1 Net Profit

Net profit at Turkish Airlines reached $406m in the first half of 2015, increasing from the $80.9m it posted in the same period last year.

In a statement released on Sunday (August 16), the flag carrier said that despite “a period with severe fuel price and currency fluctuations”, revenues also increased year-on-year by 9.2 per cent, reaching $4.3bn.

Turkish said capacity increased by 10.1 per cent in the first six months of the year, with a load factor of 77.8 per cent over the same period.

Reuters reported that Turkish has revised its full-year revenue forecast from $12bn to $11bn amind concerns about the continued depreciation of the Turkish lira’s value.
