UK “Falling Behind” In Airport Expansion

A new KPMG report says the UK’s lack of airport expansion could see it fall behind emerging countries building new runways.

A new KPMG report says the UK’s lack of airport expansion could see it fall behind emerging countries building new runways.

The report, produced on behalf of the Let Britain Fly campaign, said the world’s major cities plan to build more than 50 new runways by 2036.

China alone is expected to build 17 to cater for an extra 400 million passenger journeys.

The report said without any expansions, London could lose daily connections with up to 20 international cities with its airports predicted to be at full capacity in 2030.
