The State Aviation Administration of Ukraine has issued fines totalling more than $2m to 13 Russian airlines for breaching its airspace.

The State Aviation Administration of Ukraine has issued fines totalling more than $2m to 13 Russian airlines for breaching its airspace.

The authorities claim that the airlines, which include Aeroflot and Globus, illegally entered Ukrainian airspace when flying to Simferopol in Crimea during March and April.

Simerfopol Airport has been under Russian control since the end of February, but the region is still claimed as belonging to Ukraine by its government.
