United Airlines Introduces On-Board Wi-Fi Service

United Airlines has introduced on-board satellite-based Wi-Fi internet connectivity on the first of its international widebody aircraft, becoming the first US-based international carrier to offer this service. The Panasonic Avionics Corporation’s Ku-band satellite technology is installed on 747 aircraft which serve trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific routes. Additionally, two A319 aircraft serving domestic routes also offer the service.
