United Continental Issues December Operational Results

United Continental Holdings has released combined operational results for its airline units in December 2012. Consolidated traffic (revenue passenger miles) dropped by four per cent while consolidated capacity (available seat miles) decreased by 5.4 per cent compared with December 2011. Consolidated load factor increased by 1.2 points. Consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) rose by an estimated 2.5-3.5 per cent compared with December 2011. Core passenger revenue growth showed sequential strength from November 2012 to December 2012 but was partially offset by year-end revenue adjustments.
