Chinese carrier Zhejiang Loong has chosen to power its forthcoming fleet of A320neo aircraft with CFM International’s LEAP-1A.

The regional airline, which launched operations in December last year, has nine A320neos on order and its new deal with CFM covers the entire fleet as well as spare engines.

The order is worth $260m at list prices and maintains the LEAP’s lead in the A320neo order book over its competitor Pratt & Whitney’s PW1100G.

Zhejiang’s A320neo order is part of a larger order that also encompasses 11 A320ceo aircraft which are to be powered by CFM’s CFM56-5B.

In June, the Chinese carrier also signed an MoU with Bombardier for 20 CSeries aircraft.
