238,000 Technicians Needed In Asia Pacific By 2034

The Asia-Pacific region will have the greatest demand for maintenance technicians and commercial aviation pilots in the next 20 years, according to the 2015 Boeing Pilot & Technician Outlook (PDF).

The Asia-Pacific region will have the greatest demand for maintenance technicians and commercial aviation pilots in the next 20 years, according to the 2015 Boeing Pilot & Technician Outlook (PDF).

The report comprised of commercial aviation personnel forecast that around 238,000 new technicians will be needed in the region up to 2034, followed by 226,000 airline pilots.

Boeing said this accounts for about 40 per cent of global demand and is more than North America, Africa and Europe combined.

China has the biggest requirement with a need for 106,000 technicians, followed by Southeast Asia which requires around 60,000 technicians.
