Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aerospace) has signed an agreement with Airbus and its subsidiary Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) to a launch a passenger-to-freighter conversion programme for A320 and A321 aircraft.

ST Aerospace will lead the engineering on the programme while conversions will be undertaken across its global network of facilities, as well as at EFW’s sites.

Under the deal ST Aerospace has become the majority shareholder in EFW, increasing its stake to 55 per cent.

The narrowbody conversion contract follows on from a similar collaboration signed between the three parties in 2013 to create a PTF conversion programme for the A330.
