Aftermarket specialist AAR has extended its power-by-the-hour (PBH) agreement with flydubai covering its fleet of 737-800 aircraft.

Under the terms of the long-term contract, AAR will provide the low-cost carrier with nose-to-tail management of component inventory and repair services on 53 of the narrowbody initially, before increasing to 60 aircraft.

The PBH contract’s value wasn’t disclosed.

Mick Hills, SVP engineering and maintenance at flydubai, said: “We continue to invest in technologies and partnerships that strengthen our commitment to maintain the highest levels of reliability and safety in our operations.”

Hills added that the AAR agreement will help the airline reduce aircraft-on-ground time while contributing to its on-time performance.
