Airbus To Establish New Indian MRO Training Centre

Airbus has announced plans to establish an MRO technician and pilot training centre in India to meet future demand.

Airbus has announced plans to establish an MRO technician and pilot training centre in India to meet future demand.

The facility will be set up in Delhi and will be able to accommodate four A320 flight simulators, with capacity to train more than 8,000 pilots and 2,000 maintenance engineers over 10 years from 2018.

Demand for the roles stems from India needing more than 1,600 passenger and freighter aircraft in the next 20 years to 2034, according to Airbus’ latest global market forecast.

Kiran Rao, Airbus’ EVP of strategy and marketing, said: “Our new training centre underscores Airbus’ long-term vision to equip pilots and engineers with superior flying and maintenance skills to operate and maintain contemporary and next-generation Airbus aircraft to be delivered to the airlines of India.”
