Aircraft spares specialist AJW Group has named Martyn Haines as its new technical director.
In the new role beginning this month, Haines will be responsible for AJW’s technical standards and best practices across all divisions of the business, with a focus on performance and continuous improvement in the supply chain while finding new ways to MRO demands from airline customers.
An industry veteran of 39 years, Haines joins the UK-headquartered company from Kenya Airways, where he held the same title position since August 2015.
At Kenya, he oversaw an airline maintenance operation encompassing the airline’s fleet of Boeing 737, 777 and 787 and Embraer 190 aircraft across several MRO facilities.
Beforehand, Haines previously held several technical roles at Virgin Atlantic, including general manager engineering services, general manager continuing airworthiness, fleet technical manager and head of maintenance planning and programs.
Haines will report to AJW’s chief operations officer Gavin Simmonds and will be based at its headquarters in West Sussex, located around 15 miles from London Gatwick Airport.
