Apollo Aviation Raises $833m For SASOF III

Asset management firm Apollo Aviation has confirmed it raised $833m in its latest aviation fund, SASOF III.

Asset management firm Apollo Aviation has confirmed it raised $833m in its latest aviation fund, SASOF III.

The Miami-headquartered firm said the fund reached in excess of its $750m target, and it has already acquired 18 aircraft including three A319-100s, two A320-200s, three A321-200s, one A330-200, two A330-300s and seven 737-800s.

Apollo previously raised $213m and $593m for its two previous SASOF funds in 2010 and 2013 respectively.

William Hoffman, Apollo Aviation chairman, said: “As with SASOF II, SASOF III will seek to acquire mid-life commercial aircraft and engines for lease and immediate disassembly and resale of the systems, components and parts.”
