APS Opens New Brazilian MRO Facility

US-based MRO Aircraft Propeller Service (APS) has opened a new repair facility in Brazil as it looks to further its global expansion.

US-based MRO Aircraft Propeller Service (APS) has opened a new repair facility in Brazil as it looks to further its global expansion.

Announced last year, APS said the new hangar in Atibaia is strategically located near the Viracopos headquarters of the region’s largest ATR operator Azul will be certified to carry out full 568F blade repairs by the end of April.

The firm opened a new base in Lake Zurich, Illinois last October and said it also plans to open a new facility at Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia later in 2016.

Dennis Santare, APS vice-president of sales and marketing, said: “Our goal with the Atibaia facility is to provide a convenient, cost-effective logistics point for our existing Brazilian customers.”
