ATR has announced orders for 173 aircraft, including 83 firm orders, at the Paris Air Show this week. These are valued at $4.1bn overall, and $2bn counting only the firm orders. The company says its order book now comprises more than 270 firm aircraft orders for an estimated $6.5bn. Orders received at the show include Nordic Aviation Capital’s selection of 91 ATR 72-600s (36 firm), Passaredo Linhas Aéreas’ order for twenty of the same aircraft (10 firm), while Air Lease Corporation also purchased five ATR 72-600s. ATR CEO Filippo Bagnato said his company’s success “portends a bright future for turboprop technology in regional aviation”.
