AviancaTaca Selects LEAP Engines

AviancaTaca Holdings has selected CFM International’s LEAP-1A engine to power its fleet of 33 A320neo aircraft, in addition to ordering CFM56-5B engines to power an additional 18 A320ceo family aircraft. The airline has also chosen a comprehensive engine maintenance package, with a combined value of $2.8bn at list prices. It signed a 15 year ‘Rate per Flight Hour’ (RPFH) agreement to support both the new engines under which CFM will provide maintenance costs on a dollar per engine flight hour basis. The A320ceos are set for delivery from 2014 to 2016, whilst the A320neos will be delivered between 2017 and 2019.
