Aviation Week Forecast: Engine MRO Demand Growth

Over the next ten years, engine MRO demand projections in constant dollar terms will outstrip the growth rates of the engine fleets themselves.

Over the next ten years, engine MRO demand projections in constant dollar terms will outstrip the growth rates of the engine fleets themselves.

North America’s demand grows 1.5% faster than the fleet whereas the world’s engine MRO grows a full 2.3% faster in a decade. North American operators are expected to need $6.5 billion in engine maintenance in 2016, growing to $7.6 billion by 2025 while servicing a fleet of almost 20,100 engines.

Even higher global growth rates are expected driven by developments in Asia-Pacific, China and Latin American regions.

Aviation Week Network produces annual 10-year forecasts which show projected deliveries, estimated retirements and annual MRO costs. The 2016 Commercial Fleet & MRO Forecast shows a worldwide business fleet estimated to grow to 43,400 aircraft by 2025, with a 10-year MRO requirement of $785 billion.
