Singapore-based lessor BOC Aviation has ordered 50 737MAX-8 and 30 737-800NG aircraft. The new aircraft are to be delivered between 2016 and 2021 and will bring the number of 737s in BOC’s fleet up to 175. In 2006 the lessor ordered 50 737NGs and its current fleet of 251 aircraft includes 118 Boeing aircraft, 95 of which are 737NGs. BOC also ordered two 777-300ERs, which have already been delivered to one of its customers, in the deal which is worth $8.8bn at current list prices. BOC Aviation’s clients which lease 737s include GOL, Lion Air and SpiceJet.
