Boeing Switches To Microsoft’s Azure

Boeing has confirmed it intends to move its cloud-based analytics app across to Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.

Boeing has confirmed it intends to move its cloud-based analytics app across to Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.

The OEM will transition the app over to the Microsoft offering along with its AerData and Jeppesen subsidiaries.

Boeing’s applications are used by more than 300 airlines for the planning of maintenance operations in real-time, as well as aircraft fuel usage and supply chain performance.

“Boeing’s expertise and extensive aviation data resources coupled with Microsoft’s cloud technology will accelerate innovation in areas such as predictive maintenance and flight optimisation, allowing airlines to drive down costs and improve operational efficiency,” said Kevin Crowley, Boeing vice-president of its digital aviation business.
