Bombardier has signed a three-year extension to its contract with Fokker Services for Dash 8 aircraft operators to use its Abacus Fly programme.

In a statement released on Tuesday (April 26), the Canadian OEM said the Abacus Fly programme will help improve the availability of components and reduce repair and overhaul costs by providing services on a cost-by-the-hour basis, allowing operators to better manage the life-cycle costs of their aircraft.

Todd Young, vice-president and general manager, customer services at Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, said: “Dash 8 aircraft are in service with more than 150 operators worldwide and our collaboration with Fokker Services has been instrumental in providing customers with the necessary service to run their operations efficiently and reliably for years to come.”
