CAMP and Continuum Combining and Upgrading Capabilities

Cooperation reflects industry trend of integrating software applications.

“No one solution does it all,” is a phrase frequently heard among airlines trying to make smart choices among maintenance software tools. It is also why carriers must carefully plan on integrating different applications to create a full solution.

Increasingly, though, software vendors are attempting to integrate separate applications to offer a more complete system to operators. For example, two years ago, CAMP Systems, a maintenance-tracking application, purchased Continuum’s CORRIDOR aviation service software. CAMP wanted to both increase its capabilities and create a seamless flow of information between CORRIDOR and CAMP and other maintenance-tracking systems. This would eliminate the common practice of entering data twice, into software such as CORRIDOR and again into a maintenance-tracking system. 

CORRIDOR is itself upgrading it capabilities, notes Jason Buhro, director of software engineering at Continuum. Its new Version 11.4 has features that build on integration with CAMP tracking and also with Component Control, “whose StockMarket.aero product provides a valuable integrated tool for CORRIDOR users."

New features and enhancements in recent CORRIDOR releases include a better customer portal for users to provide online quote approval and status updates. V11.4 also enhanced the Work Order module to automate steps. “Users can chain together work from one work order to another, facilitating rollup of cost and revenue involved with complex assemblies and related sub-assemblies,” Buhro explains. This feature is key for completion centers and back shops.

Training & Qualifications Modules have also been improved, with simpler employee-experience and course-status tracking for multiple workers.

StockMarket.aero is now accessible in CORRIDOR’s Inventory and Part Procurement modules. Users can see a specific part’s current availability and have direct access to the site to investigate further and contact vendor or manufacturer matches.

The integration and upgrades are paying off. More than a dozen MRO shops and aircraft operators have signed up with CORRIDOR in the last six months.
