Lufthansa Technik’s Airframe Related Component division will provide MRO services for thrust reversers on the GEnx-2B engines powering Cargolux’s fleet of Boeing 747-8 aircraft.
Under the terms of the agreement, Lufthansa Technik will carry out a reverser overhaul program which includes preventive maintenance, and provide support for non-scheduled events and worldwide on-site assistance.
If required, Cargolux will also have access to spare thrust reversers under a loan or exchange program.
The Luxembourg cargo carrier currently operates 14 747-8 freighter aircraft, in addition to a fleet of twelve 747-400 freighters.
Georgios Ouzounidis, vice president corporate sales Europe at Lufthansa Technik, said: “We have already successfully worked together with the freight carrier in the framework of an ARC contract. This new long-term contract will put our collaboration on a new level.”
