Cathay Pacific has signed a contract with Airbus for flight hour services (FHS) components support for its new fleet of 48 A350s on order.

Under the long-term agreement, Airbus will cover guaranteed spare parts availability, maintenance and logistics services at Cathay’s main base in Hong Kong and selected outstations as well as flight simulator support.

The contract also includes integrated material services where the purchasing and planning of the airline’s A350 expendables inventories are outsourced to Satair Group, Airbus’ materials management subsidiary.

Didier Lux, head of customer services at Airbus, said: “This significant endorsement by Cathay Pacific further reinforces Airbus’ position in the services market, and recognises our unique capability as an aircraft manufacturer to offer world-class flight hour services.”
