China Airlines Signs Up For GE's OnPoint For CF6-80E Engine Support

China Airlines has signed a 15-year OnPoint materials support contract with GE Aviation covering the CF6-80E engines powering its A330 fleet.

China Airlines has signed a 15-year OnPoint materials support contract with GE Aviation covering the CF6-80E engines powering its A330 fleet.

Under the terms of the agreement, GE will supply new parts, component repairs and used serviceable material to the airline for use in the overhaul of its CF6-80E engines.

In addition, GE will have on-site staff managing material requirements, availability and logistics in order to support the shop operations and help China Airlines improve overhaul methods.

China Airlines senior vice-president, Chwen-Jiun Huang, said: “As one of GE Aviation’s largest customers in Asia, we are committed to optimising engine performance through the usage of GE Aviation material during the maintenance of our CF6-80E engines.”
