China certifies Iridium system on 737NG

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has issued a validation supplemental type certificate (STC) for the installation of Iridium satellite communications systems on 737-700 and -800 aircraft.

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has issued a validation supplemental type certificate (STC) for the installation of Iridium satellite communications systems on 737-700 and -800 aircraft.

CAAC has validated an FAA STC which was issued to L2 Consulting following the installation of ICG NxtLink ICS-220A and Rockwell Collins IRT-2120 Iridium Satcom systems on next generation 737s. The satellite communication systems provide a datalink for communications that is CPDLC ready.
